This is what I called my Maternal Grandmother, Pauline
Spearman Brinkley. I lived with her from the mid-fourth grade through the ninth grade of High School. To say she was very
special in my life is a gross understatement! This photo and the one to the right were taken in front of the home built by
her and Granddaddy, in what we called Bettstown - a community near Faceville, Georgia.

Lonnie Elester Brinkley was my Maternal Grandfather. He and my Grandmother built the house shown
here. This house still stands and has been restored by my sister, Paula. Granddaddy was a stern man who believed in switches
or razon strap discipline. Yet he loved us and sang to us.

We had many family gatherings, and thankfully have many photos to treasure the memories. Mike went
to be with the Lord recently, and we miss him.
